In our lessons, we will work to build strong fundamental techniques on the trombone while incorporating music theory, sightreading, improvisation and aural skills. I prioritize student goals and the creation of a welcoming learning environment as we explore musical genres from classical to jazz to pop/rock. Whether you're a middle school band student or an adult returning to the trombone, we will work at your pace and have fun along the way. I currently teach at the Appleton Academy of Music and I am a senior at the Lawrence Conservatory of Music, where I study under Professor Tim Albright. I play in a number of groups both on and off campus, and I most enjoy sharing music with others.

About Bennett G.

Originally from Madison, WI, I'm a 21-year-old trombonist, improviser and composer. I'm a senior at Lawrence University's Conservatory of Music in Appleton, WI, where I'm finishing up my Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance, Jazz Emphasis. I play in musical groups around campus and the community, and I frequently write arrangements and produce songs for these groups. I'm well-versed in both classical and jazz theory, and my experience with music production and recording has made me well-equipped for the online lesson format. I have extensive experience with a variety of trombone method books, including the Rochut etudes, Kopprasch studies, Brad Edwards books, Arban book, and other scales and exercises that build strong trombone playing. I enjoy working with kids, and I also teach at a youth sailing camp during the summers. Outside of music, I mountain bike, take photos and play tennis. I can't wait to help you unlock your full potential as a musician on the trombone!
