I have been playing and studying guitar for 20 years. I have played in in jazz bands starting in middle school and then in high school and presently at Musicians Institute where I am a Music Major. I am also taking classes with world renown Jazz Guitarist Mimi Fox at the Jazz school in Berkeley, California. I was inspired at an early age due to my first guitar teacher and mentor, Greg Kennedy. He made lessons fun and educational. I want to provide my students with the right combination of those same principles. I learned that in addition to musical technique there is also a world of exploration and creativity. I have also studied with other teachers including Didier Bouvet who I also consider a mentor. He is also a fellow teacher on "Take Lessons". *** Lesson Details *** I will teach my students both theory and musicianship which includes scales, chords and arpeggios . I will tailor the lessons to each student"s needs and desires. I will teach my students their favorite songs. I like to play drums or bass while you play guitar when we work on songs. I also encourage students to write their own music ! In 3 to 6 months, my students will have learned basic guitar skills. *** Studio Equipment *** I have guitar and bass amps , a PA system,an electronic drum set , a yamaha keyboard and audio recording equipment *** Specialties *** blues and creativity learning scales
