Ben is a experienced and versatile trombonist and music educator based in Chicago, IL. Ben holds a Master of Music in jazz studies from DePaul University (with distinction) and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Denver in Jazz Studies and Commercial Music. As a freelance musician, Ben has played in a variety of musical settings, including small and large jazz ensembles, salsa bands, orchestras, wind ensembles, wedding and corporate event ensembles, and musical theater productions. Ben has traveled to over 30 countries playing music aboard cruise ships and has recorded on Atlantic Records for a major hip-hop artist. As an educator, Ben strives to inspire his students to improve as musicians while emphasizing the importance of having fun and cultivating a life long appreciation of music. Ben brings professional musical experience and a commitment to ensuring his students have fun while learning and improving. Ben is available to teach lessons in trombone, jazz improvisation, beginning piano, and music theory.
