After living in Southern California, I am now living in Spring Hill, Tennessee, which is outside of Nashville. I am so happy to be in Nashville, and looking forward to finding students in this part of the country. So please read forward and learn about my teaching abilities. Musician and instructor with more than 40+ years experience performing and helping others to fulfill their musical aspirations. Able to perform and teach in a variety of formats over multiple genres.
Started playing accordion at age 7. Massachusetts State Champion at age 10, 11 and 12.
Attended Holyoke Community College, majoring in Music Education.
25+ years experience performing solo and in various bands throughout the East coast.
Performing for a variety of venues within a multiple of musical genres.
Have written over 200 songs, and produced 6 solo CD's and currently producing the 7th CD in the studio.
20+ years experience as a recording studio session player providing keyboard tracks across musical genres.
Designed a program for the public libraries throughout New England and New Mexico, to teach students quickly in a 5 week course in a classroom environment on keyboards. With this course students learned the basics of music, and to play simple popular music.
Program so well received, a local cable access TV station taped the lessons and they still are playing today.
With my diverse background, I offer many options for students to learn in a unique and exciting way, with the focus on student goals, and success.
*** Lesson Details ***
Individual lesson plans are created based on the students musical acumen. I will start by teaching the fundamentals with a strong emphasis on the Circle of Fiths; the foundation for understanding and predicting musical progressions. The music that we work on will be chosen by the student. With my program, gone are the days of practicing for hours and hours on a piece of music that you are not passionate about.
in 3 to 6 months, my students will understand the Circle of Fifths, major and minor scales and how to apply this knowledge, so that the music they want to hear and play, is literally at their finger tips.

I've never taken lessons before so I have nothing to compare it to, but Ben has exceeded all my expectations. He is knowledgeable, highly skilled, friendly and focused. I knew absolutely nothing about piano except that I have wanted to play all my life. I have had 3 lessons and, though I can't play Chopin, I am amazed at what I have learned. I am very pleased and would highly recommend lessons with Ben.
