Whatever style of guitar you want to learn and whether you are just beginning, are a novice, or an advanced player, I can teach you what you want to know. I graduated cum laude from the Berklee College of Music in 2007, and have over 10 years of experience teaching students all over the DC area. I have taught students of all skill levels, from ages 6-65. My teaching approach is tailored to each student's unique tastes, interests and musical goals, but usually it involves a blend of instrumental technique, ear-training, sight reading and music theory, balanced to fit that particular student. I believe the best motivation comes from hearing ourselves successfully playing the music we like to listen to, so my very first step is to inquire and figure out what the student really wants to play. Then we can almost always find a song of the student's choosing that is simple enough to dig into right away. Of course it takes a bit of work on the student's part, but with consistent practice (the key word being consistent) students can begin to see success within the first few weeks.
