It is my grasp of foreign languages that makes me an effective English teacher. For instance, learning the complex grammar of Latin and Greek gave me a thorough understanding of English grammar and the ability to relate to other people’s native languages. I have spent many hours proofreading papers for international students. They find my instruction especially informative because I not only fix mistakes but provide an explanation. When I point out the patterns of grammar, similar mistakes show up less and less, and my students feel more confident that they are writing sentences correctly.
I learned English teaching methods through my tutoring experience. Over a span of four months, I gave a Turkish visiting scholar a systematic overview of English grammar and allowed him to apply it through conversation.

Music Lessons & Tutoring
Welcome to my studio, where I will instruct you in your musical and academic endeavors. What sets me apart is that I offer diverse instruction in two different areas. In my music studio, I give lessons in piano, violin, guitar, and composition. In my tutoring center, I specialize in Latin (learning from scratch and tutoring). I instruct students of all ages at different skill levels.
My in-studio lessons are given on a grand piano.

Piano Training: Collegiate lessons from Steven Glaser and private lessons from George Haddad
As a high school senior, under the tutelage of OSU Professor Emeritus and world-renowned pianist George Haddad, I performed the first movement of Shostakovich's Second Piano Concerto with the chamber orchestra.
I performed different self-composed pieces at seven OSU Composers' Workshops and won the Audience Favorite Award at the Johnstone Woodwinds Composition Competition in 2012. My Senior Composition Recital was performed on October 25, 2012. It showcased several of my three-movement works: string quartet, clarinet solo, set of classical songs for piano and voice, set of pop songs for piano and voice. Interspersed with these were two solo piano pieces and a duet for piano and violin.
My background makes me a knowledgeable and effective tutor. I was valedictorian at Delaware Hayes High School in 2009 and received OSU's Maximus Scholarship based on my ACT and SAT scores.
Are first lesson and Benjamin said it was AWESOME

Ben goes patiently and slowly with my 3 granddaughters, ages 7 and 8.
Terrific teacher! Has been tutoring Latin for my son for a few years & it's been great! Helped improve his SAT/ACT score & instilled a love of language in my son that he didn't have before. Highly recommend Ben!
Ben was on time and he was very patient with my 5 year old daughter.
My son enjoyed his experience and he was patient with him.
Very patient teacher.
Ben was patient, kind and full of knowledge. He was great at noticing her hand placement and would make visual corrections as well as show her examples of where she should be. For our first online lesson, I was very impressed. We still need to learn more about the technical aspects of being online (example: where to move the output video placement) but I think that just adds to the fun and experience of the whole process.Show More

Very Patient and explains thoroughly.
Ben is an exceptional teacher. My wife has prior violin experience but has special needs today that Ben works through showing great patience. We are so pleased and can highly recommend him.
Ben is a very good tutor.. Very patient and explains everything very well. He started tutoring me in chemistry AP then physics and then latin. Thanks to him a lot of it makes sense to me lol. Would def recommend!!
I have been taking Latin lessons with Ben for some time and am very pleased with his method. I have never studied Latin before, so we began from scratch, using a lesson plan built by Ben with the help of college-level textbooks. Ben has been very diligent and disciplined in building demanding but realistic lesson plans every week, as well as in creating thorough and helpful practice exercises. On top of this Ben is a polite, pleasant and accommodating fellow, open to questions and suggestions. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to study Latin.Show More
I was very interested in piano when I was in college, but I didn't have any background in piano. I took several piano lessons from Ben. He was always very patient and detailed in explanations. He also incorporated music theory to help me improve my understanding of music. I wanted to learn Canon in D, but it was too hard for me. Ben rewrote Canon in D to make it easy enough for me to play. After a few lessons, I learned the whole music!
Ben is also qualified in GMAT training and proofreading. Ben helped me with GMAT grammar, readings, and critical reasoning. He was exceptional in grammar! For the proofreading, he went point by point and gave valuable suggestions. He explained every correction to me to make sure I understood all of them.
