With many years of experience in both piano and vocal performance in Los Angeles and in England and my teaching in the Inland Empire, my students experience a rich and rewarding time of learning. I received my formal education in piano performance from the Royal Academy Of Music in London and in Rhodesia. I also attended the Kwanagoma College Of music in Rhodesia and studied organ under the famous Dr. Olaff Axelson of Germany. I also attended the University Of Redlands where I studied piano pedagogy. I studied voice with Suzann Luckather of the Alhambra Academy Of Music in Los Angeles and also with Maestra Marya Basaraba, director of the California Philharmonic 200 voice chorus. I further studied with the international vocal coach and concert pianist, Armin Gazulamian. My current vocal coach is the world famous tenor, Guiltiero Negrini of the Metropolitan Opera House New York. *** Lesson Details *** I am easy to get along with and am a very patient teacher. I expect all my students to do music theory and technique. If a student has a natural ability to play by ear I help them develop their talent. I also teach improvisation to those students who have the natural ability to play by ear. I use several different curriculum but prefer Piano Adventures. My lesson plan includes the following books- piano, theory, technique, performance and some selected sheet music. After a three to six month period, most students are confident enough to play in a performance and are able to read notes and have an understanding of the keyboard. Voice lessons include breath control, vocalizing, stretching your voice range to its maximum and singing songs from Broadway to Disney to Classical. All students are encouraged to participate in two recitals a year. One in the Spring and one in December. *** Studio Equipment *** Private studio with a grand piano, metronome, music stand and chairs and mirrors with a sitting area for parents *** Travel Equipment *** Piano or Keyboard *** Specialties *** I teach most piano methods available such as Alfred, John Thompson, Piano Adventures, Bastien, etc. I teach mostly classical and opera, also Broadway and popular in both piano and voice.
