Hi! Thank you for considering studying qigong with me.
I am just starting to teach qigong. That's one reason my rates are low. I've thought about teaching for many years, but the time hasn't been right. Now, just as I'm turning 65, the time is feeling right. I'm semi-retired, my daughter is in college, and I have progressed far enough along my own path to have confidence in it's destination and it's reachability by others.
I want to teach before I start to write. Only by teaching will I properly understand how to share what I have learned with others.
My concept of individual teaching is that it must be a back-and-forth, a dynamic experience for both the student and teacher; and not a one-size-fits-all approach. Everyone approaches self-cultivation (practices such as qigong, yoga, meditation, and tai chi) from a slightly different direction. By understanding your direction and responding to it we will both gain. I will learn more about what people want from qigong and how they approach it. You will obtain a greatly customized approach to qigong that is maximally oriented to your needs.
My ideal approach to teaching is to focus on qigong as an embodiment practice and to introduce new embodiment practice elements as the student is ready. Depending on the student other instructional elements can be utilized. I can teach forms from several classical qigong schools. I can recommend readings about daoism and qigong and can review or discus them with students. I can also offer instruction in a daoist approach to casting the Yi Jing (I Ching).
