I'm an enthusiastic tutor of English as a Second Language and my native Farsi (Persian) with over 15 years of professional experience. I have a PhD in Applied Linguistics/Translation Studies and a Masters in English Translation. I have taught ESL writing, grammar, reading, and speaking at Kent State University. I have also done IELTS tutoring and proofreading of students' writings at both undergraduate and graduate levels. I have extensive experience in both face-to-face and online instruction, and have taught diverse student populations in a variety of subjects. While I teach all language skills, I am an expert in teaching English grammar and writing as well as conversational Farsi. I am also specialized in IELTS and have helped many students succeed in their IELTS exams. Given my background as an international student and instructor, I have a deep understanding and appreciation for the world's linguistic and cultural diversity and have the ability to work effectively with people from different languages and cultures. In addition to a never-ending love for languages, I love and admire works of art. My hobbies include painting and practicing my language skills in Spanish and Turkish. I love learning and teaching languages, and always do my best to identify my students' specific needs and learning styles before designing lessons for them.
