Hi, I'm Idil. I’ve just received my master degree in Voice program from Mannes School of Music. I'm extremely interested in working with you! Shortly after my graduation from undergraduate studies, I started my professional career. I have been engaged with Turkish State Opera House as a permanent opera singer for seven years. In this role, I had the opportunity to perform leading roles with well-known orchestras, conductors and opera companies. It helped me to develop a professional attitude, discover leading research in opera at a younger age, develop good communication skills, musical discipline and responsibility at a young age. During this time, parallel to my professional duties, I assisted my voice teacher, who is a prima soloist in Turkish State Opera House, and had a chance to work with the students who provided me a chance to develop my teaching skills to a wide variety of students. After the professional experience, I had a desire to further improve my music skills in the academic world. This led me studying and getting my master’s degree and complement my professional experience with academic research. The experiences I had has been invaluable. Teacher position requires ability to teach and communicate effectively, develop continuously and be responsible and disciplined with the tasks at hand. I believe my professional and academic experience have prepared me well in all of these areas. While I was a young student, I always wanted to work with successful and well-equipped teachers who had significant and relevant hands-on experience. I believe, my experience and background prepared me to be one of those teachers who can help younger generation to build the skills necessary and grow in their area of study. This is what excites me the most about teaching.
