Guitar with Austin M.

Hello. I'm Austin. I've been teaching for over 15 years to all ages/levels/genres and have been an teacher at NYC Guitar School since 2008. I went to high school at Duke Ellington school of the Arts (DC) and got my bachelors degree in jazz studies at Shenandoah Conservatory (VA). I specialize in fretboard studies (ie: scales/modes, arpeggios, etc) , improvisation and songwriting. I also have an extensive background in teaching beginners of all ages. In addition to teaching, I play guitar in indie rock band, Snowmine, and am a freelance composer, producer and sound designer with Brooklyn music house, YouTooCanWoo. I also have a solo project, All The Roses, that I am currently playing in the city with. The most important thing about playing music is that you're having fun. I adapt my teaching style to every student's needs and incorporate the important fundamentals of guitar and music no matter what direction we take.
