Ashton Vines is a career musician focused on teaching, writing, recording and performing music that moves your heart and soul. He specializes in the saxophone but is a multi-instrumentalists as well as audio engineer. At the tender age of 6 years old, he discovered his gift of music and has been honing his craft ever since. Ashton earned his Bachelor of Music degree at the prestigious Howard University in Washington DC. He has performed with the likes of Aretha Franklin, McCoy Tyner, Wycliffe Gordon, Bobby Watson, Hubert Laws, Bunkie Green, Pharoah Sanders, Bennie Maupin, Hugh Masekela and Sonny Fortune, among others. He has completed a seven city tour in Japan with the Howard University Jazz Ensemble. His first album “Summer” was fully instrumental jazz cover songs and he has a second hip hop inspired second album entitled “New Beginnings.” He looks forward to sharing all of the knowledge he has acquired over the years in your comprehensive lessons. He loves to teach. He believes that teaching sharpens both the skills of the student and the teacher and makes us all better people.
