I very much love teaching, and have a lot of patience. I believe music should be fun, and is necessary to a well-balanced life. I currently live in Northridge, CA. I began my classical training at the age of 5 and began performing professionally in a mariachi group at the age of 15 years old. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education at California State University, Northridge in December of 2010 where I studied violin with Michael Ferril a graduate from Julliard who has played on countless Hollywood films. I returned to CSUN as a graduate student and received my teaching credential in 2013. RECENT PERFORMANCES: Latin American Music Awards, Dolby Theater -Performed with Grammy Award winning artists Idina Menzel, Jesse and Joy, Yuri, and Reik House of Blues Anaheim June 2013 -Performed as backup singer and dancer in opening act for Grammy Award winner Intocable Glee, Fox Television 2012 -Played four tracks on camera with cast band in two episodes of Glee during seasons three and four Gibson Amphitheatre July 2012 -Performed live as mariachi in opening act for Grammy Award winner Ramon Ayala to sold-out venue House of Blues Anaheim February 2012 -Performed live as mariachi in opening act for Grammy Award winner Ramon Ayala I have played in symphony orchestras, performed solo pieces, and play chamber music. I have played concerts in Hawaii, Europe, Alaska, and Palm Springs. I have also played with several mariachi groups in the greater Los Angeles area. Other performance locations include Guadalajara, Ensenada, Tucson, and more. Some of these performances were during my time studying under Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano. MARIACHI EXPERIENCE: -Presently performing as violinist/vocalist with Mariachi Mexico -Have performed as violinist/vocalist with numerous mariachi ensembles, including Mariachi Poncitlan, Mariachi Master Apprentice Program led by Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano, and Mariachi Olas. *** Lesson Details *** I believe learning music should be fun and inspiring but I am also serious about teaching and my students. As long as the student practices on a regular basis I will help guide and teach the student and give them the tools necessary to be an amazing performer. I definitely focus on learning to read music, scales, etudes, standard repertoire, and of course whatever fun pieces of music may interest the student. I have two student recitals per year giving the students opportunities to showcase their talent and see their progress.

Ashlie is one of those rare excellent teachers that truly loves what she does and can impart that onto her students. We had our 9 year old daughter going to Ashlie for 6 months to try and see if our daughter would like violin. Unfortunately that did not work out, but not at all because of Ashlie. Honestly, if I wanted to learn how to take the Violin, I would take lessons from Ashlie because she is one of the best teachers out there.

Ashlie is a great teacher! Ashlie is very knowledgeable when it comes to teaching Violin and we love that about her. My daughter feels very comfortable around Ashlie because she knows just how to make the subject relate-able. Ashlie's personable teaching style and wonderful personality make lessons with her that much more enjoyable and I would highly recommend her.

Ashlie has been teaching my twin girls the violin for over a year. She is very kind and patient and has a way of getting through to my children. Ashlie is no pushover which I really like since my girls will look for ways to waste time but the lessons are always well controlled. The girls have learned so much from her and I hope to continue with Ashlie for as long as we can!
