Opera Voice with Ashley S.

I'm a professional opera singer from Tampa, Florida. I earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Florida and a Master of Music from the University of Miami Frost School of Music, where I studied vocal performance. While pursuing my education, I taught private voice lessons to students of all ages and assisted teaching group music class to kids from ages 0-4. This past season I have performed with Florida Grand Opera and Frost Opera Theater. I received an Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions for the Florida District, as well as a Merit Award from the National Society of Arts & Letters Dorothy Lincoln-Smith competition. I will make my Carnegie Hall debut in 2021 as a recent winner of the Frost Artist Launch inaugural competition. As an active performer, I hope to help you achieve your personal and career goals with my knowledge of the industry. My students can expect to focus on technique that will allow them to sing across genres (not just opera!) and see improvements in their singing from week to week. Every person has their own unique voice to share--I teach students to uncover their authentic voice through foundational techniques and artistic expression. While my personal passion is singing opera, I believe that great technique is essential for every style of singing. I regularly teach opera, art song, musical theatre, pop, and jazz.
