Music Theory with Ashley B.

Hi! My name is Ashley. I am 22 years old and am a recent Alum of UCLA. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education with an emphasis in oboe and clarinet. I am currently the High School Music Director at St. Anthony High School in Long Beach, CA. I played clarinet and oboe in the UCLA Wind Ensemble and clarinet in the UCLA Marching Band. I have been playing clarinet for 13 years and oboe for 7. For reference, I also play English Horn and Bass Clarinet. I joined band in 5th grade and absolutely fell in love with it. Over time, I realized I also am very passionate about teaching and helping people. Therefore, I decided to study music education. My goal was to become a middle/high school band/orchestra director, and this year I achieved that goal! My background with teaching includes working at a daycare during my senior year of high school, being in music leadership all 4 years of high school, teaching private oboe and clarinet lessons for 5 years, (including my 11-year-old brother), a six month internship in a high school band program, student teaching for 3 months for Elementary General Music, and for 6 months for Middle School Band.
