Hello ! My name is Art and I am confident I can help you reach your guitar and musical goals in a fun yet effective way. Learning an instrument is one of the most fulfilling activities a human being can engage in and I'd like to share my over 20+ years of experience with you !

I grew up in Texas and now live, teach and play in the Philly area. I am a graduate of the Musicians Institute's G.I.T. program and over the course of the last 20 years I've taught hundreds of students from total beginners to professionals in every possible teaching environment. I've taught and played everything from Funk to Finger style to Metal and everything in between. I've released several albums in different rock bands and I've toured all over America,13 European countries as well as Australia.

I have a laid back teaching approach that focuses on rudiments like Technique, Ear Training and Theory but also we'll spend a lot of time dissecting riffs and songs from your favorite bands and artists.



*** Lesson Details ***

Whether online or in person, lessons are a blend of focusing on musical rudiments as well as learning and dissecting songs and riffs from classic artists and bands of all styles. The first half of the lesson would consist of something like {For Instance} practicing blues scale sequences moving on to an interval Ear Training drill and then breaking down the chorus riff to "Jamie's Cryin" by Van Halen.


*** Studio Equipment ***

I have amps, cables, music stands as well as a speaker system for playing along to songs, metronomes and drum loops etc. For Online students I typically send the links and things to play along to afterwards.

*** Travel Equipment ***

For In Home lessons I usually have my guitar, metronome as well as papers and materials prepared before hand. Some times if the material is online or a PDF ill send the links afterwards with lesson notes.

Various method books published by Musicians Institute press, Alfred and Hal leonard and cherry lane. Fluent in ALL styles - Rock, Pop, Country, Funk, R&B, and heavy metal etc etc. Also very fluent in sight reading, Theory and how it applies to the students prospective instrument as well as Ear Training
