I have been teaching music in some form for over 32 years. As a public school music teacher, I have taught at almost every level K-12. My primary duties have been as a band director, choral director, general classroom music teacher, and handbell choir director. As a general classroom music teacher, I have over 10 years of experience teaching guitar to between 15 to 25 students at one time! My professional performing experience has been primarily in popular music on both drums and bass guitar (both of which I have instructed privately). One of my greatest enjoyments throughout the years has been starting students on their chosen instrument. I have extensive experience in teaching beginning guitar, bass guitar, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, and tuba. In addition, I have extensive experienced in taking a student from the beginner level to the intermediate level in percussion/drum set (my primary instrument in high school and college). As I begin to wind down my career as a public school teacher, I very much would love to build a solid career as a private music instructor. I believe that I have much to offer in this field, from my experiences spanning over three decades!
