After having taught ESL for 25 years, I have a large bag of tricks, including many materials and methodologies, to help you achieve your goals in learning English.

In lessons with me, you will do 80% of the speaking, and get lots of practice. I use many different methods and materials. Advanced English students, such as professionals who need to have strong English skills in their jobs, may read and discuss articles that I find for them in their field. 

I have a lot of experience in getting students to talk about their interests.

For beginning students, I speak slowly and clearly, and know how to reword things to make it easier.  I really teach correct pronunciation of vowel sounds, which make such a big difference in others being able to understand your English.

I enjoy the special relationship between students and teachers. After teaching ESL for more than 25 years, I feel lucky to have been able to get to know many, many students.

There is nothing more wonderful than learning another language, and being able to use it to explore your world. I love how exciting and fun it is when students know that they are learning. It motivates me to become very creative.

I have taught students from over 30 different countries at all levels. I lived overseas for several years, and taught English in China, Japan, Malaysia, Andorra, Saudi Arabia, and Mongolia.

I also like to study languages, and am presently studying Chinese, Italian, Spanish and French. Studying and teaching language is my passion.
