Viola with Arie S.

I’m a professional violist, Assistant Principal Viola with the Seattle Symphony and the Seattle Opera. In addition to teaching viola, I am more than happy to give violin lessons up to advanced level, and can also teach music theory and composition. We will work on developing good technique, as well as beautiful phrasing and musical expression. I think it’s very important to have a good balance between the technical, analytical, artistic and expressive aspects of playing. With a Master’s degree in music, two prizes in major international viola competitions, and over 15 years of professional orchestral experience, I believe I can provide the highest level learning experience. More importantly, I give my students the tools they need to think for themselves, improve on their own, and become their own teachers.
