Teaching since:

Hi, all! My name is April and I'm super excited for the opportunity to get to work with you. I graduated from St. Norbert College with a Bachelors of Music in Music Education. I have been teaching music and theatre since 2008, where I have had the fortunate opportunity to develop many performing arts programs throughout various schools, teach privately, manage and direct theatre productions, and perform locally and internationally. I'm very outgoing and energetic and tailor my teaching to the individual and their particular needs / desires. Every student comes in with a different ability level and goal set, in lessons we will make sure to grow your ability, have fun, and help you reach your goals. Let's get started on your musical and theatrical journeys.

April is licensed and certified to teach music and drama, and I can promise you that she is a teacher of extraordinary talent and dedication. I have first-hand experience with April's work in the classroom. I am the Administrative Assistant at George Rogers Clark Middle/High School, and I work with her daily. She is one of those teacher that a child grows up to remember for the rest of his/her life. She has that significant of an impact on her students ad they learn and thrive in her classroom.
April sets high, but not unreasonable, standards for her students and then she gives them tools to succeed. Students are motivated and intellectually stimulated in her classroom. She has a passion for teaching and turns mistakes into teachable moments in her classroom. She uses a plethora of methods to keep the children interested and engaged. When students leave April's classroom, they have embodied a passion for music and drama.

April is a creative, talented and caring teacher. I have seen first-hand how she works with students, making lessons fun and interesting. The shows April has put on have been extremely entertaining, with the children clearly loving every minute of the performances. I also know April as a client, my daughter took private voice lessons with her. April is a professional who is dedicated to giving her students the best possible experiences.

April is one of the most dedicated and passionate people I know, always going above and beyond for any project she is working on (from classroom lessons, private lessons, to full productions). Music has always been around her and am excited for her as she continues to teach music. She is an inspirational person who will get anyone excited about music and will teach from the heart.
