Hello everyone! I have been working as a professional musician since I was 14, playing Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, Old Time and Bluegrass tunes. I'm the first in Texas to place first in Tenor Banjo & Mandolin in Mid-west Fleadh to compete in Ireland. I started the band Reel Treble with 2 other bandmates 6 years ago when I was 14. We traveled through out Texas, Louisiana & Oklahoma. Due to school and other obligations my original bandmates no longer perform. I have been Blessed that I have 3 other incredible musicians that perform with me now. Pre-Covid I would perform with TIMES (Traditional Irish Music Education Society) at Trinity Hall & The Celt. My band mates with 3 Pints and a Glass that I'm also a member with, would rotate and perform weekly at The Crafty Irishman, The Playwright & Cannon's Corner. I've also performed in Dublin, Ireland at Temple Bar. I go there every summer for the Fleadh (music competitions) and continuing my techniques through Scoil Eigse (music school & workshops). I play Tenor Banjo, Mandolin, Tenor Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Keyboard/Piano, Piano Accordion and Greek Bouzouki. I'm pretty excited, I just started taking Harmonica lessons this month, Dec 2020, I love it! *I teach Tenor Banjo, Mandolin, Tenor Guitar & Acoustic Guitar all levels. I learned to play by ear then tab & abc. The past three years I've also learned to read music. I attend UNT, majoring in Learning Technologies (BS) and double minoring in Music & Business Music and Entrepreneurship. Also I'm a member of Lambda Chi Alfa. I LOVE all music especially old rock! Even as a Trad musician I would combine Billy Joel, Elton John etc.. songs into my sets, everyone would love it! Please don't let my age deter you from contacting me. I've performed with musicians of all ages since I was 10 years old and professionally since I was 14. Antonio is such a kind and patient teacher. He was able to get me started on the basics of the tenor banjo in our first lesson and even made me my own binder of music for me to practice at home. It’s hard to come by someone who actually knows the tenor banjo and I feel lucky to have found a great teacher! He really look the time to make sure I felt comfortable practicing for our next session. I am looking forward to continuing my studies with Antonio.
