Tony, originally from Buffalo, NY, attended SUNY College at Fredonia where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. While at Fredonia he received a Performer’s Certificate in trombone. Tony then attended Duquesne University where he earned his Master of Music degree in trombone performance. After graduation, he spent time freelancing and teaching in the greater Pittsburgh area. Tony then attended Indiana University, continuing his graduate work focusing on trombone performance. After his time at IU and freelancing in the greater Indianapolis area, he moved to Columbus, OH and completed his Doctor of Musical Arts in Trombone degree in August 2015 at Ohio State University. While in Columbus, he has thrived as a freelancer while keeping a busy teaching schedule. His principal teachers have included Carl Mazzio, Scott Parkinson, Peter Sullivan, Peter Ellefson and Joe Duchi.
