I started playing the piano when I was six years old. I've had multiple teachers, and then I finally settled at the American International Music School in Glendale, California. I was an honors student at the Music Teacher's Association of California Certificate of Merit program for three years. I was tested on piano performance, sight-reading, ear training, key terms, and writing. In the 7th grade, I was made accompanist of the choir. I've helped students with their starting pitches in songs, and go over the different lines for each voice part. I've been accompanying the choir for 7 years. I also accompanied a musical in Hollywood. I took AP Music Theory in my junior year while I also tutored a foreign exchange student in the same subject. During my 12 years of playing piano, I've received many awards and trophies. I won first place at the International Colibri Competition. In the 8th grade, I received an award for "Outstanding Musician". For our lessons, I require at least a 24-hour cancellation. If you will take music theory lessons, it will be required to purchase "Fundamentals of Piano Theory" (it's an 11-book series). Before our first lesson, I will hold a consultation meeting, where I will find out your skill level in piano and music theory. I look forward to working together with you.

Annie is incredible! She is so passionate about music, and it's inspiring. From sight-reading to music theory, Annie is superb! What is most admirable, however, is her patience and kindness. She is always willing to help her students understand and love music. She is encouraging and positive!

Piano · In home

I took piano lessons from Annie for 8 months until I moved from the area. Annie is patient, knowleagble, and accomplished. I went from chopsticks to playing Chopin etudes under Annie's expert guidance.
