I taught a group of 10 middle schools students the elements of good singing while singing some of their favorite pop songs. The lessons culminated in a live performance with choreography for friends and family.

I graduate of the prestigious Crane School of Music in New York, I am a compassionate instructor and strive to ensure that each student feels special, cared for and successful, no matter what their age. I am experienced with working with children with ADD, ADHD and Autism as an instructor, teacher's aide and academic tutor. I tailor each lesson to meet the needs and temperament of each of my students. Lessons are given in a relaxed atmosphere and I try to make each lesson an enjoyable experience. I am a very versatile instructor. I teach all styles of singing, from classical art songs and arias to the latest pop, country and rock songs. I have prepared some of my students for auditions such as "The X-Factor" and "American Idol". I taught undergraduate voice to non majors at UNC while a grad student there for two years. I also have many years of experience as a substitute teacher and have been teaching voice and piano privately from my studio for four years.

Whether you're a beginner or have had lessons in the past, I can help you build a stronger, more resonant sound. I'm comfortable teaching pop, country, music theater, and R&B. I'm very relaxed in my teaching style, and have taught voice and beginning piano to children and adults alike. I have worked with children with special needs and I believe it is my job to tailor each lesson to the unique style and ability of my students. I have earned both a Bachelor of Music from the State University of New York at Potsdam at the Crane School of Music and graduated with honors.  I also earned a Master of Music degree from UNC Chapel Hill. Go Heels!
