I am a professional opera singer and voice instructor living in New York City. I have an opera, musical theater, church and choral background. I am comfortable teaching all styles of music, but please note that my training is in Classical Voice so my focus will be healthy tone production, breathing and support. It would be my pleasure to work with my students on basic music theory. I can also help students prepare their voices for public speaking engagements.
Currently teaching voice in the NYC area. I also teach in New Orleans and Chicago when I am working or visiting.
I sing at Opera Houses around the country, namely the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Dallas Opera, New Orleans Opera, Kentucky Opera, Madison Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Central City Opera, Mobile Opera, Opera Grand Rapids and many others.
While I was in the Master's degree program at Indiana University, I taught private voice lessons to non-voice majors and theater majors.
I began teaching voice in New Orleans out of my home. I taught for 4 years before moving to Indiana to get my master's degree in voice.
