    About Angela F.

I am a professional opera singer, performing with Opera Fort Collins for a second season. I have two degrees in music and am perusing my third. My bachelors is in Composition for Commercial Music. My Master's degree is in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy. I am currently finishing my Opera Performance Certificate at UNC, where I have had the pleasure of performing "The Queen of the Night" in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, and will be performing the role of "Miss Wordsworth" in Britten's Albert Herring this April. I studied piano for 7 years in my youth with a primary focus on the suzuki method. I have been teaching piano and voice for the past 7 years privately and at many different academies and institutions such as Boca Academy of music and School of Rock. At school of rock I had the pleasure of teaching a variety of different styles and genres, from rock to musical theater, for all ages. The wonderful thing about teaching classical voice technique is that it correlates to all styles of singing. Having a good foundation allows for you to sing in any style while being able to keep the health of your voice intact for a long lasting career. Learning how to read music also allows for you to have more opportunities open to you in the future and allows you to learn and understand music more quickly. In my lessons, I teach healthy vocal technique, sight reading, and performance practice to all my vocal students. Just as i stated with vocal technique, a good foundation is the gate way to all possibilities in music. For my piano students, I teach sight reading, theory, fingering techniques, and an over all good classical foundation for piano. A well rounded foundation transitions to all genres and styles. In my lessons, I want my students to receive exactly what they are looking for. I want to offer as much as i possibly can, but also focus and fine tune the skills my students desire to possess. I strive to make all my lessons comfortable, fun, and exciting! After all, music is the expression of self and should be enjoyed!
