The Windy City Knitting Guild (WCKG) is an educational and social club.  The purpose of this organization is to promote interest and skill in knitting, while encouraging high standards of quality workmanship.

I have been teaching small group classes of children between the ages of 5 and 13 since 2010. My favorite memory from my earliest class was when my 10 year old student went home and adjusted her mother's sewing machine to sew properly! I have taught classes from very basic sewing machine skills to machine quilting.

I learned to crochet in grade school, taught myself to knit and learned to sew from my mother at a very early age. Teaching grade school children/students is my passion. I believe learning to knit and sew can help students learn a level of patience and persistence that will help them in their school work.
In October, I retook and passed the NCLEX, and I have restored my nursing license to active status. I would love to tutor nursing students of all levels. My professional background is in Pediatrics - especially Pediatric Critical Care. I'm especially passionate about helping nursing students that need help with basic math/algebra.

I had the pleasure of working with Angela back in 2020. I made an entire dress with no prior knowledge of sewing or how to use a sewing machine. She was an awesome teacher to learn from and I highly recommend having a project you want to work towards it makes it 10x more enjoyable. I was taking lessons with her I believe from January to May. Thank you so much!!

Angela was amazing! My son was knitting after his first lesson.  She is very patient and kept him on task. Hes already looking forward to next weeks lesson.

Excellent teacher very attentive and understanding

Angela is a very knowledgeable instructor! She helped me come up with different ways to construct garments for my unique business and sped up my surging and sewing skills in just 5 lessons. She’s very patient and excellent at explaining things in depth and easy for a beginner to understand. I would definitely recommend Angela!

Very lovely and welcoming teacher. She asked my daughter about her goal and worked with her patiently to achieve it. We might come back again next year.

Angela was a an excellent instructor! She was very engaged with staff as we had zero experience! Angela was able to incorporate mindfulness practices into our  knitting  session with my management team. I would highly recommend her!

Excellent teacher very patient, I felt really comfortable. Made me just want to get started on the next project.

We have only had one lesson, and my daughter (7) keeps asking when Angela comes back - she loved her lesson.  Angela is a very patient teacher.

Angela and  I talked about what I wanted to accomplish with these lessons. We talked about what my current skills are and what I needed  to learn sock knitting.
For my first class we started on my  socks.  I got set  up and I went home with my “homework” and a sense of accomplishment.  I am on my way to finish my first pair!

It was a great start. Angela answered my questions and helped me understand what my next steps would be. She was assigned homework 😊,
