I am a professional drummer, percussionist, and educator based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and have taught hundreds of students through teaching positions I have held at Indiana University, Lawrence Univerisity Conservatory of Music, and the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. I am currently the Music Director in the Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where I teach, compose, and perform music for contemporary dance. I perform regularly with jazz combos, symphony orchestras, dance companies, and contemporary percussion groups in the Midwest and bring expertise across a diverse range of music to my teaching. I always strive to inspire curiosity in my performance and teaching. Because of this, my broad range of musical interests are well-suited for those students who are also curious about exploring the world of drumming. One of my passions is Latin American music and I have travelled extensively in Colombia and Brazil to study music with funding from a U.S. Fulbright Research Grant and the Theodore Presser Graduate Award. I have also studied with master percussionists from Cuba and Guinea, West African.
