Hi! My name is Andrew and I have been playing classical piano for 14 years. In this time, I have had the honor of performing with symphony orchestras; qualifying for international competitions; and learning from wonderful teachers who fostered my love for classical music. While in high school, I studied at the Colburn Music Academy, a pre-college program in Los Angeles where I took lessons in piano, music theory, music history, and presentational skills. I also taught piano to students from beginning to advanced levels. Currently, I attend Pomona College, a liberal arts college in Southern California, where I continue to study piano and other subjects. My goal in teaching piano is to introduce others to piano, encourage them to love music, and give them the tools to help express themselves through the piano. I believe in patience and respecting my students, and I will always give constructive feedback. Aside from piano, I teach music theory from the basics to more advanced, AP and college-level concepts. I have taken college-level music theory courses, and scored a 5 on the AP Music Theory exam back in high school. With my experience, I can help with pre-college certifications (e.g. CM, ABRSM, and RCM exams), as well as AP Music Theory prep. All my lessons will be held online. The upside to online teaching is that my lessons are open to students from almost anywhere in the world! We can hold lessons through Wyzant's own platform, Zoom, or Skype. Thank you for stopping by!
