I started playing guitar at the age of 13. I advanced rather quickly and was shortly playing in rock bands with other kids in high school.
In order to responsibly further my music career I began working for Ibanez guitars after high school. I learned how guitars were manufactured, was in charge of quality control and repairs and assisted in the research and development of new products.
After a few years I was representing Ibanez guitars on national metal tours and toured with Ozzfest, Sounds of the Underground and direct interaction with customers. My tour experience was an extraordinary and invaluable experience and something that I can share to enrich the learning experience of my students. Not in a bragadocious way, but in a "this is what being a professional musician is actually like" way.
I then joined a few bands involved in the CKY crew (of Viva la Bam fame) and wrote, recorded and performed on many bills. I also toured as a technician on a bus tour with one of these bands. It was around this time I began to spread my knowledge to others and have been doing it ever since.
I could go on but it would be a long read, and you're here for lessons not war stories. Unless you are, feel free to ask.
