I have been playing guitar ever since I was introduced to music. I enjoy performing all styles, my favorites being jazz and blues. Guitar has always been a favorite of mine to play in a personal setting because it allows me to be creative in so many ways and I enjoy trying out new ideas.

About Andrew W.

I have taught private music lessons for over 10 years. I joined my first band playing bass at the age of 13, soon moving into my high school marching band, orchestra, and jazz band. I attended both Los Angeles Valley College studying music as well as California State University Northridge obtaining a degree in Film/Television composition. I have experience writing both songs and scores for documentaries, short films, and animations. I have a wide knowledge of many different musical styles and genres including: classical, jazz, rock, funk, pop, etc. I am currently working as a Music Coordinator and enjoy giving lessons in my free time.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am very patient and will allow my students to go at their own pace. I make sure that my students get the most out of their lessons. I encourage creativity. I treat each of my student's as individuals, getting an understanding of some of their favorite songs, styles, and artists/bands. I have studied music for most of my life and have a very good understanding of music theory as well as compositional and songwriting skills. I like to give my students the musical knowledge they'll need in order to explore their own musical paths, whether it is being able to write and perform their own compositions/songs, or just to get a much better understanding of some of their favorite music so they can appreciate it just a little bit more.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide guitars, pics, blank sheet music, amps and cables if needed.

*** Specialties ***
I have experience teaching a wide variety of genres: rock, country, funk, jazz, pop. I am also very familiar with music theory, making it a fun and easy to learn process.
