At John Harvard we assisted with homework and supplemental help for after-school students.  I also re-taught some concepts that the student seemed to need more work with.

Tutor

At Mathnasium, I am tutoring with grades 2nd-12th, and occasionally private sessions for college students as well.  The material covered for Mathnasium enrolled students is the foundation work that is designed and explained in the Mathnasium Curriculum.  Private sessions cover whatever the student desires to learn or get assistance with (follows my subjects available to tutor).

My favorite part of encountering a new student is helping them discover the technique of learning what works best for them. Every person learns differently and it's up to the student to utilize the resources and techniques that cater to their skill set, and it is the teacher's duty to make sure the student has access to their specific skill set and how to use them.

I recently moved back to San Diego in order to finish my last year of an Applied Mathematics degree.  I have been privately tutoring in math and science since I was in junior high and I really love to break down complex and difficult concepts in math and science in a way that any person can understand.  I hope to pursue a profession in teaching after obtaining my BS. 
 I am available to start immediately; I am taking part time classes currently to finish my degree. I am also in the process of obtaining my Certification in Individual Basic Certification through the National Tutor Association before applying for Intermediate and Advanced tutoring certification in specified subject areas.
