Hello! I've been teaching music full-time for the past 10 years. I graduated music school in 2008, holding a Bachelors in music from Columbia College Chicago, a thriving arts school in the heart of downtown Chicago. There, I primarily concentrated on music composition and guitar, while also studying piano and drums. My parents were musicians and school teachers, so music teaching is very much in my blood. I've been playing and writing songs in bands since I was 12 years old. I recorded 3 original albums in high school, which is a very unique thing. I played shows everywhere in Chicago through college and upon graduating started a successful band called Minor Characters. We worked on albums with Beau Sorenson (Death Cab for Cutie, Superchunk, Bob Mould) at April Base Studios (Bon Iver), toured extensively, and was featured at South By Southwest Music Festival in 2012 and 2013. This past year I spent recording a number of online guitar courses that are available through my business Make Some Noise, Inc. I did all of this while maintaining a full schedule of music students, where I put on recitals at cool music venues and had kids and adults play together in duos, trios, or bands. I'd love to do the same thing here in Los Angeles!

Andrew is THE BEST! He connects super well with our 8 year old son and is a GREAT teacher. My son enjoys his lessons, is making lots of progress, and even wrote his first song! I highly recommend Andrew if you're looking for a music teacher!!!!

As a music producer, I've always wanted to learn the guitar, my favourite instrument. I wanted to add guitar playing to my music making arsenal. I started taking guitar lessons online with Andrew 6 months ago as a complete beginner. I was skeptical at first of how much I would learn online and if it would be worth it. However, I can honestly say Andrew is an excellent teacher who I not only recommend for his outstanding musical knowledge and talent, but also his great teaching skills that allow him to adapt to any of his student's special requests for a class. Anyone motivated who is willing to put in the work into practicing will love the process of learning with Andrew.

Andrew's been working with my 13yo online for the past few months teaching guitar online. Andrew is fantastic. When we had a scheduling conflict, he went out of his way to work with us to not miss a week. He is very easy to talk with, ask questions, and motivates my son every lesson. He is clearly passionate about guitar and is a natural teacher. Strongly recommend him for both kids and adults.
