During my time at the Florida State University College of Music I studied Theory and Composition. My primary instrument during this time was guitar, though I took a wide variety of lessons on various instruments. I want to use my experience and background in classical music to teach my students the best way I know how. I am currently working as a music teacher at ECU while I finish up my MA in music. *** Lesson Details *** I have taken enough boring lessons form strict teachers to know that there isn't anything fun or useful in that. I am only interested in teaching you, the student the kind of music you want to learn, not the kind of music I think that you should learn. We can decide on the pace of lessons together. In my experience the fastest way to progress on any instrument is to remain excited about playing so that practicing doesn't feel like a chore. So let's have some fun and make music together! *** Studio Equipment *** Extra room set up for lessons, seating for parents, non-smoking *** Travel Equipment *** I expect students to have their own instruments and necessary accessories I would provide sheet music and other materials as necessary. *** Specialties *** My degree is in music composition and my principle instrument is classical guitar. Because of this, I feel the most comfortable teaching Music Theory, Songwriting, and Classical Guitar. My specialty is Classical Music. I also have played in bands on and off my whole life so I feel comfortable teaching about acoustic guitar in a more folk style.
