I have played guitar for 5 years and am currently studying at the Berklee College of Music as a guitar principal! I will take time to get to know where students are in their guitar playing, whether they have never touched the instrument before or are simply looking to learn more. This will help students learn guitar in an efficient and effective manner, and will get students to work on what they need to work on. Along with playing techniques, I am also well versed in music theory and can teach concepts of music theory during lessons. I am excited to teach the incredibly rewarding art of playing guitar!

About Andrew M.

I am a musician, music producer, and performer currently attending Berklee College of Music as a guitar principal.

I first began playing guitar when I was 14 years old, but it was not until I was 16 that I realized I wanted to pursue music as more than a hobby. Since then, I have learned piano, bass guitar, drums, and vocals. I have a wealth of experience performing live music and working with other musicians. For a year and a half, I was a guitarist and vocalist for a rock/blues band which performed several live gigs. In high school, I performed in jazz band and several choirs, and was accepted into MMEA's central district choir. My experience with performing different types of music will allow me to effectively teach my students!

I hope to develop in my students a love for not just guitar, but music as a whole. When you play and experience multiple genres of music, it opens your eyes to approaches and techniques you may not have previously considered. I have experience performing rock, jazz, blues, reggae, metal, and choral music, and each gives the performer and listener truly unique emotions and feelings. I hope I can expose my students to several styles and techniques of guitar playing and new genres of music they may not have previously listened to. Let’s make some music together!
