I have a Masters of Music Composition and over 30 years experience playing in professional situations. My knowledge of different genres gives me a unique perspective for teaching. Over the years I've played piano jazz in cocktail lounges, drummed for numerous rock bands, played solo shows singing and accompanying myself on guitar, and I've also performed with orchestras, big bands, and stage shows. I'm classically trained as a percussionist, and I studied jazz piano at the University of Kentucky before finishing my degree at Brooklyn College. I can make the piano, drumset, or guitar approachable for traditional and non-traditional students alike. I offer a strong foundation in technique, theory, and musicality, and I can teach you popular music styles and improvisation as well. I look forward to working with you!
