    About Andy G.

I have been teaching several instruments including guitar, ukulele, bass, tuba, trumpet, and trombone to hundreds of students of every age and ability since 2013. In addition to lessons, I am a certified k-6 general music teacher in the Gilbert Public Schools district. Many past guitar students of mine have gone on to join their school's music programs, start bands of their own, write, and record their own music. Many of my brass students come to me to prepare for auditions and continue to stay in lessons as the long term benefits of lessons, like higher confidence and opportunities like earning leadership positions within their school's music programs, grow and grow. I've performed with The Phoenix Theatre (guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele), Arizona State University Concert Jazz Band (Bass Trombone), The ASU Tuba/Euphonium Studio, Benja Bloom Band (Guitar and Lead Vocals), and as a fill-in Piano Player for various cover bands around the Phoenix area. My versatility as a musician has fostered a unique career that spans across more genres than what is considered typical including wind band, orchestra, jazz, rock, fusion, New Orleans brass band, Americana, blues, folk, bluegrass, reggae, and musical threatre. It is these formative and professional experiences that allow me to offer a truly diverse palette of diverse experiences for my students to explore and delve into as they begin to form their own musical and personal identities.
