I've been teaching beginning guitar lessons off and on for 15 years. I like to give students the basic elements of chords, scales, picking, and strumming so that they can get to work creating their own music or playing the music they like. Start with no musical background, or build upon your musical knowledge you've gained from other instruments.

I teach drum and guitar lessons. I take time to understand how you learn best, and teach to your personal goals, whether that's doing well in school music programs, having fun on your own, or playing with others with professional aspirations. My students have included younger children, teenagers, and adults of all ages.

Andy is an excellent instructor. 

My 14 year old son had been playing drums for an hour or more every day for several months, and was making fair progress. He was convinced he could learn the drums on his own. But between his first and second lesson he improved exponentially. We were clearly going down the right path.  

While my son was uncomfortable with the idea of taking lessons from someone he didn’t really know, Andy established a strong rapport with him by the end of lesson 1. And he was very eager to come back for lesson 2. 

We intend to continue lessons with Andy for the foreseeable future.
