    About Andrew B.

I am a semi professional poker player who specializes in no limit texas hold'em and, specifically, multi table tournaments but can offer assistance in sit and go's as well. I took up the game when I was 9 years old after the Moneymaker boom and dove head first into it even at that age. I was hosting poker tournaments (don't worry it wasn't for money at that point) for my grade school friends and even dealing out a whole table's worth of hands and play all of them by myself. As I got a little older, I started to take golf very seriously and lost time for poker and actually completely stopped playing for a number of years until my second year of college at Ohio State University. That's when some friends and I decided to play a bit out of boredom and I fell back in love. Ever since then, I have become obsessed with getting better and eventually make tournament poker my full time profession. I love the process of learning and getting better, playing, and discussing the game with others who are interested. I have an undergraduate degree in Climatic Studies with a minor in Mathematics from Ohio State University and a Master of Engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University. Therefore, I think it's safe to say the math part of the game of poker really appeals to me as well as the problem solving nature involved within every hand. For me, the problem solving and puzzle-like nature of the game have to be the best parts because it really keeps the mind occupied with fun decisions and piecing everything that has happened in the hand so far to make a great decision. When you get to the point where you can correctly guess your opponent's holding, it is one of the most rewarding experiences you can feel. I am excited to help anyone of any skill level: If you are just interested in learning the game of texas hold'em (or some other poker variants like omaha, 7 card stud, etc) so you can play with friends, interested in beating the game enough to play a game you love without losing any money, or interested in crushing the game and winning thousands (or even millions) of dollars playing it I firmly believe in my abilities to help get you there. I will tell you that becoming a big time winning player takes a lot of work and isn't necessarily easy, but it is most certainly very rewarding. I love teaching and discussing all things poker so if you share a love for the (or want to try it out) I am happy to help get you where you want to go.
