About Andrea T.

Hi Friends, I am Andrea, a mother, a grandmother, a yoga teacher, a HearthMath Certified Trainer, and Trauma-Certified Clinical Coach, a certified integrative medicine health coach, and a chef. I was a TV news reporter in the 80s. As I covered more environmental disasters, I became concerned about environmental issues, so I became an environmental activist. I then realized that our real hope was in the classroom teaching children, so I went back to school and got two advanced degrees in education from the University of Virginia-- an M. Ed. in Science Education, and an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction. TEACHING IS MY PASSION.

I was in the classroom for 18 years, but when my mom got sick with Alzheimer's and I got sick with Hashimoto's Autoimmune Disease. I left the classroom and went back to school to learn how to heal. So several more degrees-- yoga teaching, health coaching, HeartMath, and hundreds of students later, I teach yoga and coach health full time. My passion for cooking comes from my mom. I learned how to cook with different ingredients that improved my health but still tasted yummy. I also make jewelry (a form of meditation) and I live on Heaven Lane, so my company is called Heaven Lane Healing & Creative Arts. I have been married since 1984 to my biggest supporter, Mark. I have three amazing grown-up sons, a daughter-in-law, and a beautiful granddaughter named Isabela. I would love to help you on your healing journey with my compassionate, clear, caring style of teaching.

I signed up with Andrea a couple months ago for yoga and health coaching. Andrea is a compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful coach. She is working with me to improve my GERD symptoms and quality of life. I struggle with weight loss, Hashimoto's disease, GERD, sleep Apnea, and hypertension. I am a mother of 6, grandmother of 2, and have 2 jobs. Since I started with Andrea, my doctor lowered my blood pressure medication, my blood work improved, and I have more energy during my day. In addition, I am learning how to destress and enjoy my life using HeartMath techniques. I look forward to my sessions. I highly recommend Andrea Trank’s cooking lessons. Andrea helped me customize a plan for our lesson and sent me personalized instructions for what to buy and how to best prepare for the session. Great cooking instructor! Very passionate about healthy cooking and really good with step by step directions. Answered all of my questions while also giving quick on the fly options if something didn't come together just right. All the food was easy to make and very very good. I would recommend her to any who is looking for healthy options that are super versatile.

Andrea is wonderful! She made cooking easy and fun. I'm not great with using healthy ingredients, but Andrea made it a piece of cake (actually a piece of delicious banana bread!). The meals are so tasty and my confidence in eating better makes me excited to make the next meal. I highly recommend working with Andrea!

I had the absolute pleasure of taking a group cooking class with Andrea. She gave us some great recipes with fresh ingredients. She was even able to provide healthy substitutes that helps combat inflammation for those of us that had food sensitivity. She was an awesome teacher, gave clear instructions and was such a joy to have. Recipes included, Banana Bread w/ almond flour, an egg frittata w/ mixed veggies, homemade pesto sauce, and a chicken salad made with a pre-cooked rotisserie chicken. Enough for me and the wife for 2 days!

Andrea is so very knowledgeable and helpful as well as clearly showing all different levels of poses for beginners, those with issues as well as advanced students. I really love the way she explains about the meridians, ligaments, muscles and fascia and other details which really help me understand the importance of the movements and poses. Her experience as a teacher and reporter adds to the experience and her extensive scientific and health knowledge really make me feel confident in her as an instructor. My life has been better as a direct result of these wonderful classes.

I'd been studying in person with Andrea for about 4 years, and we've made an easy transition to online yoga classes. I especially appreciate how she mixes things up, not doing the same routines each time. She will focus on a particular body part or need for each class. And she adjusts her instructions for everyone's level of ability. Her leadership is gentle and soothing, and she fills you with confidence.
