- Teaches students:
- Ages 5+
- Teaching since:
I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Millikin University, where I was a flute major and a piano minor. I've been teaching privately part-time ever since! This is my "fun" job, and I love the fact that I have always been able to teach lessons, regardless of where I am!
Students who study with me will have fun! I'm a firm believer that music is something you can do forever - a lifelong pursuit! So my goal is to teach students to love music - in whatever way that makes sense for them. If you want to have traditional lessons - great! If you want to go "off the beaten path" and try something more creative (jazz, improvisation, reading from fake books, etc...) - I'm up for that, too! We'll do an initial meeting to set goals and design a lesson plan that will work for what you want to accomplish.
I've been a performer in a number of different groups from symphonic to pop and as a solo performer, and I've been a church musician for as long as I can remember. I've got over 20 years of teaching experience with students of just about every age, and I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to my studio!
