Piano lessons feature all styles of music, including classical, jazz, and pop. Improvisation, lead sheets, and composition are introduced to all students, and can be pursued more intensively by older students. Acoustic and digital keyboards are available in a comfortable and quiet studio. Beginner students enjoy 45-minute small group lessons in interactive lessons. For all students up through high school: Theory features educational games, and interactive “learning by doing” theory is a feature for all ages. NoteFlight, iPad and iPhone music apps are all available as learning tools. Volunteer performances, friend days, music contests, quarterly group lessons, and a year-end formal recital are available to all students elementary through high school whether taking private or group lessons. Studio goals for younger students include various practice challenges, transposition, technique, "minute to win it" and other fun incentives which help students do their best. Adults are encouraged to pursue the music that most interests them and collaborate with me to build the program that is best for them. I am an educator who will find the best learning style for each student, encouraging creativity and excellence. Twenty years of teaching experience, continuing education in the best teaching practices, a love for teaching, and a heart for instilling confidence and excellence are hallmarks of my studio.
