Opera Voice

Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
In our lessons we will work to develop a healthy vocal technique, focussing on the breath and how that is the foundation of all types of singing. We will do this by beginning our lessons with vocal and breathing exercises. A huge part of vocal discovery is taking risks! So we will explore your voice by making lots of different (sometimes crazy) noises to you help you discover your voice. Furthermore, we will work on cultivating your individual artistry.

Hello! I'm Anastasia and I an opera singer who loves to share the gift of music with others. I received my BM in Vocal Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and my MM in Vocal Arts at the University of Southern California. My teaching philosophy includes establishing a solid and healthy technical foundation while simultaneously cultivating the artistry of each individual student. However, I believe that developing technique and understanding how the voice works is imperative in order to reach higher artistic levels.

I also offer lessons in beginning/intermediate piano as well as ear training and music theory.

Our daughter has been improving ever since she started her piano lesson with Anastasia. We are very pleased with the way she handles our daughter and we hope that she stays our daughter's piano teacher. We highly recommend her to anybody who is looking for a piano lesson teacher.

I recently started taking lessons with Anastasia, and she is great! I started lessons because I was a music major in college, but I haven't sang any opera for the past few years and I wanted to get my technique back. We have been working hard though my voice changes and getting back what I used to have and it has been amazing! I'm starting to love my voice once again! Anastasia is very kind and patient and really works with you to make sure you and your voice are healthy. I 100% recommend taking lessons from Anastasia!

Anastasia was prompt, polite and very delightful to work with. She is a great listener and pays very good attention to your needs making sure to answer all your questions and concerns and putting your worries to rest. I hope I am lucky enough to be able to work with her in the future, long into my musical career. I don't even know how I was able to book with such a wonderful and high-demand instructor! Also, her place is very convenient to reach with plenty of street parking and evokes a wonderful and pleasant ambiance or maybe it's just her. Either way, I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
