Hey there! The first thing I want to tell you about studying with me is that my highest priority is making it fun. I’ve found that cultivating the student’s genuine interest and enjoyment of the music learning process is the biggest contributor to progress.
In the first lesson, communication is very important to me. I want to find out what you love about music, so that we can build skills which directly contribute to your musical passions. My approach with a new student involves discussing what they are hoping to get out of taking lessons. Together, we come up with a series of goals that we will work towards achieving during our sessions. I believe in tailoring the lesson to each individual student- there is no one size fits all method to learning!
I welcome students of all skill levels and ages, including complete beginners!
I have had significant formal musical training, as well as years of experience working as a singer and teacher. I have performed and taught in a variety of styles, including opera, classical, pop, folk, and musical theater. I have a Bachelor of Music degree, and I’m about to complete my Master’s degree in Classical Vocal Performance. I emphasize a vocal technique rooted in the classical tradition, because it provides an excellent foundation for any style the student is interested in singing.
I can provide repertoire for you, and I also am open to working on pieces that you are interested in learning.
Directed a choir of approx. 16 volunteer singers at the church. I worked with them extensively on vocal technique, sight-reading, and musical expression.
Voice lessons for young students in musical theater productions. We covered the basics of healthy vocal production, as well as audition preparation, character development, and diction for the theater.

Ana has really helped me with my technique for singing. She knows a lot of different repertoire for young singers and helped me with auditions for school. She's a lot of fun to work with! :)
I highly recommend Ana because she is a patient and helpful teacher, as well as a talented singer herself. She covers a lot in her lessons, anything from stage presence and audition confidence to music theory and ear training. Her knowledge of technique had a direct impact starting from the first lesson. My daughter loves working with her.+ Read More
I took several lessons with Ana to prepare for a voice audition. They were a big help! she's got a great ability to hear and immediately pinpoint ways to improve, and is good at clearly explaining some pretty subtle technical concepts. I also appreciated that she was friendly, warm, and professional. Highly recommended.+ Read More
