Hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska, An began learning violin at the age of 9 as part of the Lincoln Public Schools elementary strings program. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Violin Performance at the University of Colorado Boulder. An graduated with high distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Mathematics studying both violin and viola. As a teacher, An has maintained a private studio since 2018. An completed Suzuki Unit One training in 2019. From 2018-2019, An was a violin-teaching intern at Nissa’s String Studio in Lincoln, Nebraska, teaching students, substituting for other teachers, and assisting with adminsitrative tasks. An also previously taught at Fiddlestick Music from 2017-2018 and at Bay View Music Festival in 2018. Her performance experiences include playing with Boulder Symphony, Lincoln Symphony, and Amore String Quartet. The Amore String Quartet received honorable mention at the 2019 National MTNA chamber music competition. Her music festival experience includes Texas Music Festival, Bay View Music Festival, and Rocky Ridge Music Festival.
