For this certification I had to neatly and correctly knit and block several swatches for pattern stitches, write lesson plans and submit 15+ teaching hours.

I have been crocheting for almost 20 years and knitting for almost 10 years. My true passion is knitting but I teach both. I taught for Michael's craft stores for a little over a year and then decided to venture out on my own and teach privately. My current students say I have a lot of patience and am a joy to learn with. I can teach anywhere from beginner lessons to advanced techniques such as cables, lace and socks.

I had my first knitting lesson with Amy today. I learned to cast-on, knit, purl and bind-off. She is an excellent teacher for beginners. She is very patient and easy to follow and understand. I recommend  her to anyone that desires to learn to knit.

I am just learning, and Amy is so positive and encouraging and patient with me. I really recommend her!  Lesson time is a bright spot in my week!

I think Amy is great.  I had a brain injury which makes it hard for me to follow directions, which I mentioned when I first spoke with the TakeLessons person.  Amy is very patient with me.

First lesson was great! Amy is very flexible and easy to work with.  I feel positive about the progress we had today and looking forward to the next lesson.

Amy knows a LOT of details about a LOT of different techniques for Knitting! She has been incredibly easy to listen to & learn from as her voice is gentle, feminine & soothing to take in & she’s pretty to look at :) There is a cleanliness in spirit that I see, feel and take in during my time with her & that I appreciate very much. It’s a truly kind, fun and holistic experience learning from her. It’s like learning from a loving guardian or elder sister... it’s a sweet, easy & spiritual experience learning from Amy! I am very grateful! Thank you so very much.

This exceeded my expectations I’m very happy with my progress after just one lesson.

I feel so happy.  Just as Amy said, Don't give up, Keep at it.  And low and behold, It clicked and I have mastered the necessary stitches. Her support and encouragement were  just what I needed to reach this goal.  I am looking forward to moving on in my lessons.   GO AMY!

Amy makes learning to knit fun!  She never gives up on you, but keeps encouraging you to keep trying.  She has a wonderful sense of humor that puts you at ease while you learn

I've taken lessons from Amy for both Crochet & Knitting. She is awesome!! I'm ambidextrous, a lefty by nature but do many things with my right and Amy was able to show me both left & right ways of knitting to see which one was more comfortable for me. She is knowledgeable and extremely patient, upbeat personality and makes learning fun. My 9yr old took a class with her and loved it. Don't hesitate, Amy is awesome.
