    About Amy B.

I am the great-granddaughter of a musician who used to play with Ella Fitzgerald and Benny Goodman in NYC in the 1930s and 40s! I believe every person has the right to be musically fluent, and to have music available to them as a tool for self expression, emotional expression, stress relief, and all the other things that music gives us. I was trained at Trinity College of Music, London, and Manhattan School of Music, NYC. I am a registered yoga teacher, and have studied linguistics, language acquisition, cognitive science at the university level. I've been teaching 40+ or more in private lessons and groups for the past 20 years. It's been my life's work to unravel how we learn music best. I teach as young as age 2 through adult. I'm trained and certified in the Suzuki Method, Dalcroze Eurythmics, Paul Rolland "Action of String Playing", Music Together, O'Connor Method, and Louise Montello's Performance Wellness My most recent work as a yoga teacher involves studying the human nervous system and the healing of trauma and stress, in addition to the movement specialization of yoga asana.
