Guitar with Amar A.

My name is Amar. I am a guitar instructor and session guitarist from Southern California, I have a B.A. in music (guitar performance) from the University of California Riverside. I have been playing guitar for most of my life. I have studied many genres and styles of playing, both formally and independently, including blues, bluegrass, jazz, rock, metal, fusion, mariachi, acoustic, and more. I have also studied formally, and more so independently, a great deal of music theory and its application to the guitar. In addition I have studied musical analysis and composition. I have been teaching private guitar lessons for 6 years now. I have taught students of all ages and all levels. During my years of teaching, I developed my own unique method which incorporates all aspects of guitar playing; songs, theory, technique, improvisation, and composition. I have found that my approach has allowed students to progress on a weekly basis and never hitting a plateau when properly applying and practicing the instructions from each lesson.
