Teaching since:

I am a visual artist residing in Florida. I have a BFA in Fine Arts from the Ringling College of Art & Design and began teaching right after graduation at the college's Teen Studios Program. I have consistently shown my work through solo and group exhibitions. My current work involves themes of humanity's relationship with nature. After painting, my deepest passion is teaching. I was recently a full-time visual arts teacher for a public art HS/MS school. It was incredibly rewarding to influence the lives of so many young people and to see their skills grow as well as hone my own teaching skills. Unfortunately, teaching over 100 students and 6 different classes at a time left no time for my own art practice so, I took a step back from the public school setting. I live and breathe art and I look forward to continuing my love for teaching and art through this platform!

As stated above, I have experience teaching many different styles/mediums/subject matter but one of my personal favorite lessons to teach is figure gesture drawing. It really improves the skill of "sight" and is really fun too. I always tell my students that learning how to "see" is equally important to learning how to make marks on a surface when it comes to becoming a successful artist.
