I remember my very first piano lessons - taught by my mom because she wasn't convinced that piano was something I would stick with. I was so excited! Music was fun! Well not always fun ... the songs got harder and my fingers had to learn how to move in unnatural ways. Sometimes I would get frustrated. BUT the passion still remained. I started teaching while in college - being able to share my passion for music is great! I graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2017 with my BA in Music Therapy. I am currently a board certified music therapist working in a local nursing home. My music therapy background allows me to approach lessons with a creative hands-on approach. I like to get beginners playing as soon as I can! I also include ear training and theory to round out lessons. ​ I am a good teacher because I get it ... I remember what it was like to be learning piano. It's like it's own language! I am kind and patient and I want to develop a lifelong desire for music.
